Access or Delete Your Data

TapBerry · Effective 16 Aug 2026

Whether you are a customer holding a shop's card or a shop owner, you can get a copy of your data, correct it, or have it erased. It is free, you do not have to say why, and we do not try to talk you out of it.

1. How to ask

Send us a message with:

  • The mobile number you gave when you joined — that is how your record is found.
  • The shop name, if you know it. If you have cards from more than one shop, say which, or say “all”.
  • What you want: a copy, a correction, or deletion.

2. How we check it is you

We send a one-time code to the mobile number on the record and you send it back. That is the whole check — we do not ask for a passport copy to delete a phone number, and you should be suspicious of anyone who does.

If you no longer have that number, tell us what else you remember and we will work it out with the shop rather than refusing.

3. How long it takes

Thirty days at the outside, usually the same week. Deletions of a single customer record are normally done the day we verify you.

If a request is genuinely complex we will tell you why and give a date, rather than going quiet.

4. What deletion actually removes

Erasing a customer record removes:

  • Your name, mobile number, and any email or birthday you gave.
  • Your balance and your visit history at that shop.
  • The link between you and the wallet pass, and the pass push token.

The pass on your phone stops updating. Delete it from Apple Wallet or Google Wallet to remove it entirely — we cannot reach into your phone to do that, and would not want the ability.

Anonymous counts survive: that a stamp happened on a Tuesday stays in the shop's totals, with nothing linking it to a person. We also keep what tax law requires us to keep for invoices, which applies to shop owners, not to customers.

5. If you only want the messages to stop

Remove the card from your phone. Messages stop immediately, and you do not need to contact anyone. Your balance stays at the shop in case you come back — ask us if you want that gone too.

6. Shop owners

The same routes work for your own account data. For your customers' data, you are the controller and we act on your instruction: ask and we will export the list as a spreadsheet, or delete it. Detail is in the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service.

7. If we get it wrong

Tell us at support@tapberry.io first — we would rather fix it than be reported. You can also complain to the UAE Data Office, or to your local supervisory authority if you are in the EU or UK.
