Acceptable Use Policy
TapBerry · Effective 16 Aug 2026
This applies to every shop using TapBerry. It exists because a wallet pass sits on a customer's lock screen: abuse it and Apple or Google can pull the channel, and not just for the shop that abused it.
1. Messaging
- Message only people who joined your programme themselves. Never import a list, and never add someone who did not ask.
- Stay within the caps: 2 messages a week and 1 a day are the soft limits. Going past the weekly cap requires a reason and is visible to us.
- Messages must be about your programme or your shop. No third-party advertising, no selling the channel to anyone else, no political or charitable campaigning.
- No false urgency, no fake countdowns, no offers that are not real. If the message says the reward expires Friday, it must expire Friday.
2. Prohibited businesses and content
You may not use TapBerry for, or to promote:
- Anything illegal in the United Arab Emirates.
- Gambling, adult content, tobacco or vaping products, weapons, or prescription pharmaceuticals.
- Financial products, lending, crypto-assets, or anything presenting the loyalty balance as money, credit or an investment.
- Counterfeit goods, or claims about a product that are not true.
- Content that is hateful, harassing, or targets a person or group.
This list mirrors the Google Pay & Wallet acceptable use rules that bind us as a pass issuer. Where their policy is stricter than this page, theirs applies.
3. Customer data
- Use your customer list for your own shop only. Do not sell it, rent it, or hand it to another business.
- Do not use it to build a profile beyond running the loyalty programme — no scoring people, no sharing with data brokers.
- Honour deletion requests. If a customer asks you or us to erase their data, it gets erased.
- Keep staff PINs with the staff they belong to, and deactivate anyone who leaves the same day.
4. Rewards must be real
Honour the reward on your card. A card that promises a free haircut and a counter that refuses it is fraud from the customer's point of view, and it is the fastest way to lose the account.
You may change the reward going forward. You may not reduce a balance a customer has already earned.
5. The platform itself
- No attempting to access another shop's data, no probing for vulnerabilities without asking us first, no automated scraping.
- No reselling TapBerry, or presenting it as your own product, without a written agreement.
- One subscription covers one shop. Branches share a customer card but bill separately.
6. What happens if this is broken
For most things we call you first — a misjudged message is usually a mistake, not malice. Repeated breaches lead to messaging being suspended, then the account.
For anything illegal, or anything that puts our wallet issuer status at risk, we suspend immediately and then talk. Suspension pauses scanning and card updates; it does not delete balances. The rest of the process is in the Terms of Service.
To report abuse by a shop using TapBerry, write to us from the support page. We read those.
